Danica

Golden Harp

I wouldn't want to give too much of the story away. Read a poem, instead!

'Twas a dark and misty night
For a lofty ship's plight
A tall and handsome sailor
Churned in watery fervor
In desperation he grasped
And frightened, gasped
Lovestruck eyes in the sea
Begged him, "Come to me"
Forbidden love sequestered
A mermaid has murdered
Now her eternal longing
For loving arm's belonging
Deepens with anguish and sorrow
Like a widower's tear borrowed

Pinador the Dragon

Pinador the Dragon

Pinador is a fire-breathing dragon with opalescent, crystal scales.

A magical quality about Pinador is, when the sun shines on her a certain way, she becomes nearly invisible!

Pinador loves to be the center of attention and she laughs REALLY loudly!

Stormy

The Moon Magic Mermaids are highly esteemed by some and detested by others. Many merfolk think they're just going through a phase and will snap out of it someday.

Their names are Stormy, Luna, and Aria. They own the Moon magic Shop and sell magic  supplies.

They have knowledge of ancient lore, magic and herbology.

They are well known to get into a lot of trouble.

Neires

Neires

Neires grew up in an oasis in the Desert of Fate and Falling Stars with his father and twin brother. The oasis was his whole life. He loved to play games in the palm trees, or read the books that his father said were family heirlooms.

Palm tree

One night he snuck away and found a guitar! He fell in love with the exotic sounds that it made. Neires thought if he practiced enough he could make a living in Errandia. Quickly he became skilled.

Neires took his guitar and traversed the vast desert toward Errandia. He became very athletic and learned survival skills on his journey.

Made you look!

This raven-haired apparition will likely not make an appearance in the Lyraka movie.

The Oracle is only a figment of my imagination, and yet here she hovers before us wearing a gossamer dress spun from the finest spider silk.

Desdemona the Oracle will tell you that Lyraka is in the twelvth dimension of our universe. She warns of a great evil on Lyraka and that if if Lyraka is detroyed, then the constellation of Lyra will not be far behind and it will result in a chain reaction of destruction.

Lyraka is in the constellation Lyra

The Twelve Palace Guards

Escutcheon of Lyraka

The Palace Guards designed the escutcheon of Lyraka; the coat-of-arms.

The Palace Guards are among the most respected citizens of Lyraka. They have been taught the utmost in etiquette and have been outfitted with many leadership skills. They are highly valued and are not thought of as expendable. Some say they are like battalions of light from an ocean sun.

Queen Lilliput

Queen Lilliput wears onyx, gold and fire coral.

Lilliput's father, Pharaoh Destinova, was a peaceful ruler of Errandia. He sent his princess daughter to school in the village center.

Lilliput became a loner and was always picked last. Lilliput had thought that she was "too good" to be in the presence of such lowly rabble.

Her peers would say things like, "When you are Queen, no one is going to do what you say." and "I'll bet your father will pick someone else to be the next queen." She promised herself that she would make them regret it some day.

One day Queen Lilliput discovered:

Scatherus

Scatherus of the Abyss

There is a creature that has come up from the depths; it has come from a very dark place.

It keeps it's arms folded; you cannot see it's hands... it's STRENGTH is in it's hands.

There are thousands of these beings coming. They are adapting to our atmosphere. They have been planning this for a long time. We are going to need help.

The Vizier

Semmonet was born in the waters of the Roundabout River. The people of Errandia don't know much about him except that Queen Lilliput appointed him as her vizier, and that he loves curling his long, vandyke beard.

His father, Pharusus, loved Semmonet's mother but she mysteriously disappeared one morning when Semmonet was four years old. She was never seen again. Pharusus became an exceedingly bitter old man... he was cruelly strict and irritable. When Semmonet was a teenager, Pharusus died of heat stroke.

Semmonet didn't know much else except to take after his father. He grew up with animosity toward everything because he thought that that was the only way to be manly.

Semmonet's favorite hobby is to slaughter creatures of the desert.

Semmonet named his two sons Kerisus and Neires.

Below is an excerpt from the Lyraka novel written from the narrative viewpoint of Neires:

I could actually hear garbled screams underwater as I read about an old coastal village that worshipped a strange god from the sea. But then I looked up.

My father was dunking Kerisus mercilessly in the small pool in the center of the desert oasis, easily overpowering the frail boy.

I feared that the malignity that was my father would grow even more hazardous, prompting even the snakes of the earth to strike, if I were to flail myself to my brother's rescue. With urgent necessity stabbing at my already broken will, strewn about like pieces of a puzzle, I managed to pin down a fragment of resolve.

Knowing full well that I would be taking his unholy wrath upon myself, I sacrificed my well-being once again for my asthamtic twin brother. Right then I taunted him. Hardly would I dare such a feat but the circumstances had grown dire.

Instead of the expected and routine concussion that I had developed a tolerance to, he did something even more frightful. He glared at me. I was trapped, his eyes holding me as though my wrists were in shackles. My courage departed as scorn flashed like lightning in his rancorous, dark orbs which sent a feverous chill throughout my cowering spirit.

I shrank back despairingly, desperately summoning some inkling of strength within. I wished fervently that his fury would miraculously subside so that I might aide my sputtering sibling who was apparently in shock. But wishing was not allowed. Not ever.
