There
is a sexless creature that has come up from the depths; it has come from a very dark place.
It keeps it's
arms folded; you cannot see it's hands... it's STRENGTH is in it's hands.
There are thousands
of these beings planning to settle on land. They are adapting to Lyraka's
atmosphere. They have been planning for a long time. To it's brethren, Scatherus is known as "The Alpha".
It has taken refuge on Volcano Island. Just
past the bridge over the lava, the volcano connects to Queen Lilliput's Resonance
Chamber by way of an underwater tunnel.
Scatherus has made the interior of the volcano a place of torture, imprisonment,
and weapon production. Lilliput's vizier is very pleased to watch the demon's resourcefulness. Armor, tools and glass products are made using native materials such as pahoehoe lava and the gemstone obsidian,
which is a black glass that can be harvested from the underwater volcanos surrounding the island.Jewelry is created for Queen Lilliput. Peridot and garnet are abundant around
the island, but rubies remain the
most popular gem.
Mortician's Mascara
Fresh cold clammy
pale
Writhing carnivorous snow
You know
Chewing through mortician's mascara
Blindly existing, oblivious to all
But the food on which to grow
Sunken cheek, stocking feet, slab of meat
Fit now only for grub
The rats always get to the bulk of the feast first
Far more toothy their whiskered maw
Pick the bones clean
Corpse eating machine
Ashes to ashes
Flesh to vermin
Dearly beloved
Pinador
the Dragon
Pinador is
a fire-breathing dragon with opalescent, crystal scales. Pinador
loves to be the center of attention. A magical
quality about Pinador is, when the sun shines on her a certain way, she
becomes nearly invisible! Pinador wants to take you on an epic journey, but be warned that she might talk your ear off.
"Pinador escorts
you where you've never been before..."

The Empress of Mermaids
The Empress of Mermaids is the sole ruler of the merfolk of Lyraka. She is never lonely though, as she is surrounded by her palace guards, her amusing court jester, adoring butlers and Danica. Danica is a beautiful mermaid that yearns for the tall, dark and handsome Leodan. Sometimes the Empress is unsure of what is more entertaining: watching the slapstick humor of her jester, or listening to the tales that Danica tells about her adventures spying on Leodan.
Being an Empress is a lot of hard work. Sometimes, when Jasmine gets stressed, she retreats to Mermaid Islands. The waterfall
there is cold and refreshing. It's fun to swim up close.
Mermaid Islands also features a wonderful statuary. The
statue below depicts Locke, head of the Palace Guard. The Empress had this monument erected in honor of his noble deeds.
Empress Jasmine draws much inspiration from these small islands. She comes here to inscribe the laws of Lyraka, and sometimes to pen enchanting poetry.
Dark
stormy mysterious melancholy rock
Out of the deep, longing from underneath
Cold wet subconscious silhouette
Shadow of archetypal dreams
Watchful yearning symbolic eyes
Haunt every caliginous breath of the tides
Surging crashing ocean storm waves
The rock of fortitude remains
Eerie atavistic song haunting the shore
A mighty, heralding crest
Glittering upon a foreboding rock
Lurking, waiting, summoning
A pale chimerical clinging statuette
Half-woman, half-fish, Empress of the Sea
This statue shows Danica playing a small harp (more about the harp in the sequel to Lyraka).
What will arrive upon the edge of the world
Surveyed by the star that rises and sets
Ships with their sails unfurled
Fishermen detangling their nets
The sun a radiant glimpse of hope
From tomorrow's treasure I cannot borrow
Impossible to glean through a telescope
Prithee not an eternity of sorrow
An anchor glitters within the star of the sea
A permanant fixture that will not fail
And faith a tempest within me
Stronger than a mighty gale
Behold! My worries are transformed
Like a mermaid wriggling out of her tail
'Twas a dark and misty
night
For a lofty ship's plight
A tall and handsome sailor
Churned in watery fervor
In desperation he grasped
And frightened, gasped
Lovestruck eyes in the sea
Begged him, "Come to me"
Forbidden love sequestered
A mermaid has murdered
Now her eternal longing
For loving arm's belonging
Deepens with anguish and sorrow
Like a widower's tear borrowed
Moon
Magic Mermaids
The Moon Magic
Mermaids are highly esteemed by some and detested by others. Many merfolk
think they're just going through a phase and will snap out of it someday.
Their names
are Stormy, Luna, and Aria. They own the Moon magic Shop and sell magic
supplies.
They have
knowledge of ancient lore, magic and herbology.
They are well known to get into a lot of trouble.
Neires
Neires
grew up in an oasis in the Desert of Fate and Falling Stars with his father
and twin brother. The oasis was his whole life. He loved to play games
in the palm trees, or read the books that his father said were family
heirlooms.
One
night he snuck away and found a guitar! He fell in love with the exotic
sounds that it made. Neires thought if he practiced enough he could make
a living in Errandia. Quickly he became skilled.
Neires
took his guitar and traversed the vast desert toward Errandia. He became
very athletic and learned survival skills on his journey.
The
Palace Guards
The
Palace Guards designed the escutcheon of Lyraka; the coat-of-arms.
The
Palace Guards are among the most respected citizens of Lyraka. They have
been taught the utmost in etiquette and have been outfitted with many
leadership skills. They are highly valued and are not thought of as expendable.
Some say they are like battalions of light from an ocean sun.
Queen Lilliput
Lilliput's
father, Pharaoh Destinova, is the peaceful ruler of Errandia. Errandia is a small town that features huts made from adobe, but water is sparse. The pharaoh sends his
princess to school in the village center where the alarm
drones eerily to proclaim the start of another day.
Lilliput is of a tempestuous temperament and is always picked on. Lilliput believes that she is set above her peers and considers them to be
lowly rabble. She would rather study arcane magic in the tombs around the pyramid, rather than engage in activites with others. Lilliput holds a particular fascination with a room called the resonance chamber.
