"Volcano Island"

Volcano Island has a notoriously dangerous history.

The interior of the volcano has an underground booby-trapped passage just past the bridge over the lava that leads directly to Lilliput's Pyramid. Getting past the traps, creatures, narrow bridge, stinking sulfur, bones and lava and into Lilliput's chambers would lead the adventurer to the Time Crystal.   The volcanic creatures help to guard the Time Crystal in the pyramid resonance chamber that contains the records of Lyraka. Lilliput has plans to channel the power from the planetary grids underneath the volcano.

Volcano Island is off-limits because many would-be heros were burned to death by the steaming lava inside and some unfortunate victims were sacrificed to Queen Lilliput and stored in an huge tomb for Lilliput's sadistic glee. Trespassers are usually questioned and tortured and may be imprisoned in the small cell past a dark crevice. 

The Volcanic Creatures create all of Lyraka's weapons, armor, tools, shields and glass products. A great deal of their tools are made from the gemstone obsidian. This black glass is harvested directly from the underwater volcanos. The lava hardens into the molds after the water cools it.

The inhabitants of Volcano Island also create rings and other jewelry for the Queen and the Vizier. There are always new gemstones being discovered in Lyraka but rubies remain the most popular gem. Peridot and garnet is abundant in and around the volcano.

The volcanic creatures trade their arsenal for food that is not available near them. They most often trade with Lilliput's Land. Lilliput would be enraged if the mer-folk got ahold of weapons, but sometimes the volcanic creatures do covert trading with the mer-folk for certain sea-food that the fisherman of Errandia cannot catch in their nets.

Scatherus

there is another type of being that has come onto the planet. Their eyes glow, they have come from a very, very dark place. They have red eyes, an orange iris and black pupils. They have their arms folded - you cannot see their hands...their STRENGTH is in their hands. These beings are incredibly alert and intimidating.

Here is what one character has to say about these beings:

"These beings do not like the light, they do not want alliances, they do not want life...they only want destruction. They will leave the people physically alive and try to kill them spiritually. If Lyraka is detroyed, then the constellation of Lyra may be destroyed too and it will result in a chain reaction of destruction. They have been planning this for a long time and now there are thousands of these beings coming. They are coming to Lyraka and other planets that have life in our universe...they are coming like a tornado and are bringing something through with them. They are adapting to our atmosphere. They are preparing to infiltrate Lyraka. We are going to need help."

Scatherus is one of these entities and he lurks in the darkest shadows. Some of the volcanic creatures are really scared so they are hoping to escape from the volcano - they know others like HIM are coming to take over Lyraka! And besides, making potash (an ingredient in Queen Lilliput brand spells) isn't exactly a fun job. Potash can burn skin really severely! Can't blame them for wanting to get out of there. The volcanic creatures are often forced to do things they don't want to do. The volcano insides are well equipped with various means of torture for when the demons are not obedient to their leaders.

Woaden the Pictish Demon is the tyrant of the volcanic creatures that patrol the island. He spends his time in the dark recesses of the volcano. Woaden is a Pictish demon. He has been alive since Earthly year 413 AD. The demon has a strong sense of persuasion and intimidation. He is also very fickle. He can stab people in the back on a whim. Picts tend to be very impetuous. Some mythos claim that when they get angry, they become more fierce than a lioness protecting her cubs.

Woaden generally does not rely on the weapon-makers because making the items himself charges them with personal and powerful energy. The volcano is sacred to him and he will defend it to the fullest extent.

With his hypnotizing eyes, painted cheeks and wormish lips, his serpent tongue seems rather tame. His favorite attire is his long, black robe.

Queen Lilliput and Woaden have agreed to a Peace Treaty in order to keep certain areas free of trespassers. Woaden posted one of his creatures to guard Messenger Bay and Queen Lilliput has assigned one of her men to patrol the perimeter of Volcano Island.

Empress Jasmine doesn't know anything of Woaden but she senses a great evil on Lyraka. Her people just disappear sometimes. Hardly any brave soul who enters the volcano ever comes back out.

Woaden wants to suck planet Lyraka into the Hell of the Picts (Malfeises) beyond the local black hole. The only planet there is burning up too quickly and the Picts need new land to replace it. The Picts will try to take over Lyraka and make it into a living inferno.

Woaden knows that the pyramid queen has the knowledge and the ability to use the crystals that hold Lyraka in balance. He cannot do these things himself because his DNA codes are from a different galaxy and he has no righteous spiritual destiny on Lyraka. Woaden often tries hypnotizing Queen Lilliput with his tattooed, spiralling face and eyes. The queen desires the dark powers that he is cunningly brainwashes and tempts her with. He wants to use the queen to rearrange the crystals of the planetary grid to achieve chaos and throw Lyraka out of orbit and toward the black hole that leads to Malfeises. He has a strong drive to accomplish his goals.

Devourer

His heart only pumps when he spits blood into it. He can survive up to two weeks with a stagnant heart.  When he is not feeding, he clings to the outcroppings in the volcano like a bat and sleeps.
